Movin' On

After a month of intense heel-toe and do-si-do, Western Hoedown is over. I must admit, it's a bit of a "let down" for me when the evening is over. I REALLY enjoy the country and western dancing.
Thanks very much for having your kids here. It was a great evening of dancing and good food. I am already looking forward to next year.

Moving on.... New Song is preparing to sing for our PDS Veterans' Day Program, which will be held during chapel on November 5, 2010. Please invite a veteran and come to join us as we honor those who served our country in military service.

New Song will also sing for the Veterans' Day observance on the courthouse lawn on November 11, 2010. The observance will be at 11:00 (if you know the history of Veterans' Day, you already knew what time). It is an honor to be invited to take part in this ceremony. Please come and join us, if you can.

Western Hoe Down

All the classes are dustin' off their boots and getting ready for the Western Dance Day at PDS. Your kids have been "partnered" with someone, so please, try to have them here on Tuesday evening, October 19 for the hoedown. We begin dancing at 6:00, so they will need to be here a little early. Look for a note from your child's teacher for more information on when and where to report. Don't forget to order your bar-b-que dinner - (prepared by Terry Burd!).

New Song

Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully and shout for joy.
                                                                    Psalm 33:3
New Song is the combined choir of all the 5th and 6th grade students at PDS. In addition to the weekly scheduled music classes, the choir rehearses once in grade sections and once combined. The group has been working on a couple of songs to present in chapel on September 3.
As you will see in the Upcoming Events page of my blog, New Song has been invited to sing at Pig Pickin' on September 25 at Statesmen Park. We will sing some time between 1 and 3 pm. I will post a specific time when I know one.  I hope to see all choir members and parents there.
I will try to post a photo of the group later, but until then, you can see them on the 6th grade blog.

Chapel - It's Not Just For Kids

We invite you, parents, grandparents, and friends, to come to chapel every Friday morning at 8:30. This is the very special time of our week when the whole school comes together to worship God, sing His praises, recite our memory verses, and hear a Bible message from Bro. Sid. We also recognize birthdays and special achievements! If you need a spiritual lift, please join us. There is such joy in worshipping and praising God with children. They are so sincere and joyful. I hope to post photos of chapel soon.
Mrs. Burd will be introducing our faculty and staff in chapel this Friday, August 20.

Welcome to the Music Room
